As mentioned earlier, there is really no excuse for having to cancel your reservation that evening. Once again Lisa A., please accept my personally apology once again. However, I completely understand that The Goat & Vine is a much more casual concept than The Nightingale and that is not what you were expecting for the evening. For every single reservation that was canceled that evening at The Nightingale, I personally guaranteed a reservation at The Goat & Vine for the same time so that our guests would have somewhere to dine at the time they had planned for. The winding down of the business was much more difficult than ever anticipated and you have every right to be disappointed and upset. All this said, I personally take 100% accountability for this failure. We couldn't bear for our most loyal guests to come in on our final service, spending their hard earned money, and getting an experience that was not even close to meeting our expectations, and definitely would not have met yours. The menu that we were going to be able to offer our guests that evening was in no way representative of the quality that we have become known for. As communicated, we completely ran out of prepped food items for service as we have been trying to strategically wind down the business since announcing our closure. Truly devastating for our whole team and the community who wanted to say goodbye on the final day. I personally called every single reservation myself that day and regrettably and embarrassingly had to let you know that we would be unable to open the restaurant for our final service. I completely understand your frustration. There is really no excuse and you are absolutely right about everything you said. One star is the only option, but this should be zero. Seriously, what kind of business does that? Nathan Rivera, how could you let this happen to people within your community, customers who have supported both restaurants year round? Extremely disappointed. There were at least 16 people standing outside wondering what happened. Tonight we arrived and the restaurant was completely shut down with a note pasted on the door saying they were closed. We even confirmed our reservations for six directly with the restaurant last night. We had special friends in from Indiana and wanted them to experience the wonderful food, service and ambiance. So we decided to celebrate the last evening of the Nightingale existence by booking reservations tonight (New Year's Eve). Of course, this is the restaurant business, so we get it. Imagine how sad we were to hear that its parent restaurant (Goat and Vine) decided to take over the restaurant space and shut The Nightingale down. We have been happy patrons of The Nightingale since it's opening.
